Mikel finally dumps Chelsea for a mega move to Chinese club

- Nigerian star Mikel Obi has finally dumped Premier League side Chelsea

- Mikel has been said to have completed a deal with Chinese club Tianjin Teda

- Lack of playing time this season forced him to exit doors at Stamford bridge

After spending ten years at Stamford bridge, Nigerian midfielder John Obi Mikel looks to have completed a mega move to Chinese Super League campaigners Tianjin Teda.

On Thursday, January 5, 2017, there were reports that the Super Eagles captain was having a medical in China over a potential transfer move.

It was explained that the 29-year-old midfielder was offered a three-year contract worth £140,000-a-week by the Chinese Super League club and the deal now appears to have gone through after pictures of Mikel shaking hands with Tianjin Teda official were shared on weibo.

This season under new Chelsea manager, Mikel Obi has not played a game in the Premier League, and this has been the major rationale for him to have agreed to leave Stamford bridge.

Mikel joined Chelsea in the year 2006, and won three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups, the Europa League and the Champions League during his time with the Blues.
